How This Funding Can Support You

You have the opportunity to select one (1) of the following extension courses:

Babies & Toddlers / Infant and Preschool Aquatics (SISCAQU027)  - SWIM Australia or AUSTSWIM

Access and Inclusion / Learners with Disability (SISCAQU028) - AUSTSWIM or SWIM Australia

Lifeguard Update (SISSS00133) - Royal Life Saving Society Queensland

SWIM Squad Fundamentals (SISSSWM001, SISSSCO005 & SISCAQU020) (mandatory pre-requisite for the Swimming Australia Development Coach course) - SWIM Australia

Aquatic Technical Operator (Pool Plant Operator) (SISSS00131) - Royal Life Saving Society Queensland

Aqua Exercise Instructor (SISSS00135) - Royal Life Saving Society Queensland

Are You Eligible?

Please read the following checklist carefully prior to completing an Expression of Interest Form:

    1. Check your eligibility: 
      1. Aged 15 years or older;
      2. Currently employed at a Swim School in Queensland and/or hold the Swim Teacher skill set SISSS00132. 
      3. Be a permanent Queensland resident;
      4. Be an Australian citizen, or Australian permanent resident (includes humanitarian entrant), or a temporary resident with the right visa and work permits on the pathway permanent residency, or a New Zealand citizen;
      5. Not already have a Certificate IV or higher education (including tertiary qualification) completed within the last 10 years (qualifications as a school students and foundation skills qualifications, do not count)
      6. Not be enrolled in any other qualification, whether funded or unfunded, except for foundation skills qualifications. 
    2. Consider your career interest and your course selection. 
    3. You are interested in securing either casual, part-time or full-time employment at a Queensland based Swim School or Aquatic Venue*. 

    *The project team will use best endeavours to connect you with a local Swim School or Aquatic Venue to support best outcome employment opportunities.
